What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I mention Culture?

Is it music? Could it be fashion or art? Do you think of politics? Or do you immediately think of things that are stereotypically "Black" 

Now if you did  think of "Black culture" then good. Why is it good? Because many of us don't realise how problematic this can be, not just from the perspective of the world looking in but within our own community. 

So explore with me. What does it mean to be Black, can we ever really define Black culture and if we can, does this do more harm than good? 

As I will continue to say, I am not an expert. I don't have the answers, I am simply facilitating these discussions and planting seeds of thought in your minds. You are your own person and your opinion and experience is unique to you if you're interpretation or conclusion is different from mine that is no problem at all! 

If you leave having formed an opinion on something you would otherwise never have thought about, that's an accomplishment in itself.
